Style Crush: Dree Hemingway

This week's style crush is model Dree Hemingway, great grandaughter of American writer Ernest Hemingway. Other than walking for Chanel & posing for Vogue, she's well known for being one of the iconic it girls when it comes to personal style. Her street style looks easily thrown on with structured cuts.She's a fan of mixing high end pieces with highstreet & vintages pieces too. Though in her red carpet appearances she's always in feminine & sultry ensembles, making sure all flashing cameras are on her ;).

The key words to her style are: neutral colors, casual chic, effortless, minimal make up/beachy blonde hair & boots!

Quick Hair update!

I've been wanting to dye my hair for the past 2 months and had the exact shade I wanted in mind, & I finally got it! I was scared to have it done at a salon, cause they don't always get the exact color I want, plus I saved my self a load of cash ;p.

~Here are products that I've used:
I bought 2 of these boxes & mixed them with 2 bottles of the developer billow (9% with the purple cap), I threw the developer that came with the box away.I left the dye on for 35 minutes then washed it off.

In natural light. It looks very true to color in the natural light :)

All in all, I'm very satisfied with the result. I've dyed my hair with the usual box dyes before, but they're not efficient at all, and the color pay off is very pooor and just bleh! So I decided to go bold and try the permenent hair dye.

Right after I was done with college, I was lucky to be accepted to intern in one of the companies that I've always wanted a chance in. Even though I was little jealous of all my friends who were vacationing either abroad or in the country, I woke up every morning excited to learn & experience something outside the textbooks and the papers deadlines. I interned in HR/Admin, it was really nice, even though it started getting repetitive at the end lol. I met a lot of wonderful people & left with something new to add to my future resume :).

I had a really beautiful weekend in Dubai last month. Met up with my best friends, had amazing time together for 3 days. We had great meals, laughed till we couldn't breathe no more, shopped, went to salons & most importantly, loads of ACTION took place as per usual (action, as in weirdest/funniest things stumbling upon us). I wish I took more pictures I could post here, but unfortunately most of them are personal!

So we took off early & only stopped once in Sohar. You guys have to check this place out (Sohar Oman oil petrol station), they make the best Omani bread (5bz r5al) with different spreads. We had our bread with saffron milk. It's SO GOOD!

On the Midnight In Paris premiere, she was dressed in Maxime Simoens' Spring 2011 white fitted dress, very crisp, chic & simple.

Trend: Turbans!

Turbans have been in the fashion radar ever since the late 60s-70 when fashion icons like the late Elizabeth Taylor rocked jeweled turbans so elegantly. Turbans were all over the S/S'11 runways, they're coming back strong for this season! Moschino, D&G, Rocha, Milly & Giorgio Armani all walked their models down the runway with the most amazing colorful turbands (half turbans that are worn like a headband, similar to the image above)

Iconic stylist June Ambrose have went as far as designing her own line of turbans for the season. She's been rocking turbans almost everyday during NY fashion week with her signature red lips and statement shoes.Her spin on the turbans are surely dramatic!

What do you think? Is it a hit or miss?

I've honestly been loving turbans since almost two years! soo in love with this trend, don't think it could get any better! Def getting my hands on some turbans real soon ;)

Bioderma Makeup Remover

I'm the type of girl like many girls out there who love wearing the makeup part, but seriously dread taking it off at night! All the makeup removers that I've tried seem to burn and irritate my skin & the ones that didn't, weren't good enough to do the task at all.

SO! I was really happy when I finally discovered the Bioderma makeup remover, I was screaming WOW in my head when I first used it. It's like magical water! it does not feel nor smell like anything, like your wiping your face with cold water in a cotton pad. My first bottle was the one with the pink cap, it's targeted for sensitive skin, very gentle and has no traces of perfume in it. My second bottle however is the one in the picture above, they had the small bottles of the pink one & I wanted the regular size one, so I went ahead and picked this one up for the size & to try out something new by the same line. It's just as good as the other one, removes ALL of my makeup thoroughly, but it has a subtle fresh scent to it & made my skin a tiny bit tighter cause it's for combination/oily skin. Right after I wipe off all of my makeup, I rinse my face with cold water and use the tiniest amount of my current face wash along.I totally recommend this product especially the pink one, unless you have really oily skin, then go for the one with green cap instead.

The only down side of this product, is that it does not remove my mascara off, that's why the face wash and water part is crucial.

Aldo to Launch Real Leather Bags

Aldo, one of our many favorite shops of trendy shoes and handbags, is offering us something new to love this season: real leather handbags. Their previous designs were obviously made of faux leather, the brand is launching a collection of authentic handcrafted leather bags this September! Model Jessic Stam in the above picture has mini cross body bags that have that hobo chic style to it. The price range is from 110-180$ (40-70 Omani Rials), very reasonable eh? Just a little bit above their usual price range.

Oh Tom!

It seems like every sunglasses that I've been liking lately end up being Tom Ford ones! Regardless of his provocative and equally outrageous ad campaigns,I find my self being obsessed about his sunglasses just the way people are obsessing over his perfume line in this region!

My top two picks are those 2:

I've tried them on in Solaris City Center Qurum, they look fab on, too full of attitude ;). They are around 190 RO.

My 2nd current obsession are the Alessandra ones. They are super gigantic & fully black..just a typical pair of shades I would droll over ;p (They come in Rose Brown too, but I'll always pick black instead of any other color).They have been seen on Rachel Zoe, Nicole Richie & Kim Kardashian. I should probably check if they have them in Muscat, I've heard they've been selling out since April :/.

He makes fantastic Cat Eye sunglasses too, too bad I can't pull those off.
